What this site is

DroneGearSetup.com is an independently published reference site about drone equipment, flight planning and United States drone regulation, published by Cozy River Studios. It is funded by affiliate commission, which is disclosed in full on the affiliate disclosure page.

The content is general information. It is not professional advice, legal advice, aviation instruction, engineering advice or insurance advice, and using this site creates no professional, advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and the publisher. Acceptable use

You may read, print and share pages from this site for personal and non-commercial purposes, and you may link to any page freely. You may quote short passages for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research or teaching, with clear attribution and a link to the page quoted.

You may not republish substantial portions of the site elsewhere, scrape or bulk-download it to reproduce it, present its content as your own, use it to train a system that reproduces it verbatim, remove or obscure attribution and disclosure notices, or use the site in any way that interferes with its operation or with other visitors' use of it.

Responsibility for flight

This bears repeating in the terms as well as the disclaimer. The remote pilot in command is responsible for the airworthiness of the aircraft, the preflight inspection, the airspace, the weather, the people and property below and the outcome of every flight. Nothing on this site transfers any part of that responsibility, and no calculator output, table or recommendation substitutes for your own judgement or for the current guidance of the FAA or your own national aviation authority.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher from any claim, demand, loss or expense arising out of your misuse of this site, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or of the rights of a third party.

Privacy

Your use of this site is also governed by the privacy policy, which describes what data is collected and how it is used. In short: no accounts, no comments, aggregate analytics, and an email address only if you choose to submit one.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised from time to time. The revised version applies from the date it is published, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the update date at the top of this page.

Automated access and reuse

Ordinary crawling by search engines is welcome and the site publishes a sitemap for exactly that purpose. What is not permitted is bulk scraping intended to reproduce the site's content elsewhere, whether as pages, as a dataset, or as a derivative product that substitutes for reading the original. The distinction is between indexing something so people can find it and copying it so they do not have to.

If you want to build on the reference material here, the better route is to go to the sources. Every page names the source types it draws on, regulatory pages link to the authority directly, and the underlying facts about weights, thresholds, voltages and airspace are public. Deriving your own tables from those sources produces something you own outright and something that will not inherit our mistakes.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the publisher is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
